Cement Clinker
Neotrans: Your Trusted Partner for Premium Cement Clinker
Cement clinker is a crucial intermediate product in the production of Portland cement. Formed as lumps or nodules, clinker is created by sintering limestone and aluminosilicate materials like clay in a cement kiln. This process fuses the materials together without melting them completely. When stored in dry conditions, clinker can be preserved for several months without significant quality degradation.
Once ground to a fine powder, Portland cement clinker serves as the binding agent in various cement products. To prevent the flash setting of tricalcium aluminate (Ca3Al2O6), a small amount of gypsum, typically less than 5%, is added. Clinker is available in sizes ranging from 3 to 25 mm in diameter.
